The Land between Bormio and Livigno

The Valdidentro, bathed by the river Viola, west of Bormio and after Semogo is divided into two branches: the Val Viola and and the Foscagno valley, leading to the pass of the same name from which you can then reach Livigno. The community, the largest in the entire Lombardy region, is divided into fractions: Premadio, Pedenosso, Isolaccia and Semogo. Rich in history and culture, Valdidentro has been inhabited since the year one thousand thanks to the development centered on the agricultural and pastoral.

Signs of the past in this valley are still present, from the Church of Pedenosso that rises on the rock as a sign of fortification, to the towers of Fraele placed between Mount Scale (east) and Cima Plator (west) that up until to World War I were surrounded by trenches as the strategic point where they are located.

In addition, in Valdientro the thermal spring waters arrive from different sources in the wall of Monte Reit which are used for baths, mud baths, inhalations and massage at the Bagni Vecchi and Bagni Nuovi in the Bormio ski area.
